The Private Sector Development (PSD) department mainly focuses on Startups and MSMEs, with the main activities being training, evaluating, and following up on the progress of the enterprises. MSMEs and Startups are the backbone of the economy, and Pragma wants to be actively engaged in the ecosystem to create an enabling environment.

We work to create an enabling ecosystem for entrepreneurs through training/workshops, evaluation of their businesses, and facilitation of funding opportunities.

We provide training and workshops for start-ups and MSMEs as implementing partners for projects funded by different donors.

As a Business Advisory Services Provider (BASP) operating in Ethiopia, we support the enterprise development of small, medium, and large companies, especially in the manufacturing, agro-processing, and ICT/Digital sectors.

Business Incubators Communities (BIC) Catalyzer Program

The Catalyser Program serves established MSMEs to refine their business model and grow their enterprise in a series of workshops facilitated by Pragma's trainers. The Program helps enterprises to improve market access, generate higher income, and create jobs.

Business Incubators Communities (BIC) Starter Program

Aiming to strengthen the incubation ecosystem for agri-businesses in Ethiopia, the project provides business incubation support for agriculture (Agri-business and Agri-tech) companies. The Starter Program supports aspiring entrepreneurs and their teams to turn their business ideas into business models in a series of workshops with a test phase in between facilitated by Pragma’s trainers.
